Training

Training is an integral part of your running experience.  The elite runners that leave us in awe train religously.  For the recreational runner training becomes an important part of staying in shape and keeping up your strength and endurance.  For beginner runners, training will give you the foundation required to run long distances efficiently and without injury.

  • Group Runs:  Running with a group not only gives you a chance to make new friends, connect with old friends, but also introduces peer pressure, which can help you improve your running.  You'll find a number of group runs around the Memphis area.
      
  • The Women Run Walk Memphis Program is a phenomenal way for any female runner to get involved in the sport or to even improve on the running foundation that they've built.  The program begins each July, so check back this Spring for details.  

  • Of course we encourage you to seek the advice of other runners, check with your doctor before you begin an exercise program, and always, always...have fun.
